Arctic Rescue received a call from a local veterinarian who had just seen Aria after she was hit by a car and suffered a broken leg.  The family was opting for euthanizing Aria because they did not feel equipped to take care of her medical needs.  The veterinarian discussed the possibility of seeking rescue assistnance for Aria instead of euthanizing her as she could still live a full life...even if she ends up only having three legs.  The veterinarian said Aria was a sweet, sweet girl and had been so gentle and kind...even though she had to be in a lot of pain.  Arctic Rescue agreed to help take on the daunting task of rescuing Aria which started with the generosity of a caring family paying for xrays of Aria's broken leg.  The next steps will be to see if we can save Aria's leg which will be determined by how much soft tissue damage is involved.  Aria will have surgery at Cottonwood Animal Hospital and we will update as we get more information.  The surgery expense to try to save Aria's leg is estimated to be around $4,000.00  We would appreciate any help we can get to go toward this overwhelming and unanticipated expense to save the live of a dog in need.  Thank you again to all of our generous, caring people out there who help to make saving dogs like Aria a possibility for rescues.
